I wired them up and screwed the Audiobahn's in and only the tweeters work... not ht espeaker. The ASQ65's have the tweeters in the speaker.

So I don't have my digital camera (this paint image will have to do). My question is did I forget to wire something? Like those bottom prongs (with the green arrows pointing to them)....? maybe?

I don't understand it. There are four prongs on the speaker (2 pos. and 2 neg.) and only two wires from the car, one pos. and one neg.

The prongs (in that 90-degree L shape) are connected so I wouldn't think you would have to connect to BOTH prongs? and if you do.... how do I connect two positves to one pos. wire

... and two negative's to one neg. wire?

I am not soldering, just crimpers and come connectors...

thanks.

n/m...

no, it sounds like either
a. the speakers don't work
b. the speakers require more power then you are pushing
c. you are running bandpassed outputs to the speakers
d. the speakers suck

I tried to look up the speakers and could not find specs available on the net. Those L shaped connectors are for hooking up more then 1 speaker to an output on an amplifier so you can make 2 4ohm speakers into 8 ohms impedance or 2 ohms impedance depending on the application.

You should try swapping them out with another speaker or adding an amplifier to drive them. Standard sterio head units are usually 20-60watts per channel. Check to make sure that will drive them.

doh! n/m delete me.

nah, i figured it out, they both need to be hooked up for the tweeter AND the speaker to sound....
So I got special. connectors and made it work.

careful. before you turn it up what is the impedance for the speaker and tweeter(each that is).

if they are each 8 you are good. if they are 4 each, you are putting a two ohm load on whatever is driving them. my guess is its the headunit, and i dont know of any headunit that is stable to 2 ohms.

thats dumb coaxials have seperate connections. maybe they are component speakers with some funky feature that lets you stick the tweeter in the woofer to make it look like a coaxial.

I don't know the impedance of the speakers...

they are the AS65Q (fronts)

and AS69Q (rears)

Both Audiobahn..

My HU is an Alpine (the common one), 6957 (something like that)...

It sounds like staright SHIT! I haven't turned it up past 11, but there is NO bass...

I mean they sound good when you put your ear right next to them, but sitting in the car the music is straight shit..
I hate it, I want my stock speakers back (they have more bass)..

UNLESS,
I'm missing something. Like are these speakers designed to be used with sub woofers or did I just wire something wrong...

I bought these speakers doing no research because I've heard them in REDZMAN's car (he has the next model up of my HU).... So I figured they'd work fine in my car...
But they sound NOTHING like Jeremy's, I hate them...

I want my friggin music back.

stock hu?

you gotta put some POWER to aftermarket speakers! too little will make them sound like crap, and can even damage them.

It's an Alpine 6957 (something rather)

the filter i was talking about is that same thing i think that driving was talking about in point c. I had them in the past for my pioneer component speakers.

now i have these though: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/prod...9562741,00.html

(4-ways) and they don't have multiple connections. they sounds great though. everyone that rides in my car talk about how clear they are.

as far as your problem I'm not sure. did you read the install directions for your speakers?? (since you just found extra connections it's not sounding like it.....)
