does anybody know what the sizes are of the stock speakers in the 2001 tib? i want to get them replaced (i listened to my music a little too loud and blew something out) but i can't find anywhere that tells me the size.
also, does anybody have any suggestions on what i should get? i just want something that can handle bass and fairly loud music.
thanks! smile.gif

I believe 6.5" and 6x9 are correct. You could always get a tape measure or ruler out.
Personally, I would spend the cash (if you have it) and get Boston Acoustic Pro series... comes with tweeters, 6.5's and 6x9's... but they're at a hefty price (around $300 or more I believe). I've heard plenty of people praise them and claim they're the best and almost IMPOSSIBLE to blow. Other people are happy with Infinity Kappa's
I find it hard to believe you blew yours. Mine are nowhere near the bass they used to have, don't really put out any bass anymore, that's why I got a small simple system... my stock speakers are still loud, so I keep my bass all the way down and my subs all the way up. I like 'em that way >;-]

The speakers in my 99 are still going strong... and I will admit that over the course of several hours on the road.. the volume does wind up turned up. I never realise how loud until I get back in.

actually i beleive the fronts are 6-3/4", i had a hard time getting the 6-1/2" sonys i have to fit, your best bet would be to go with something that will fit both sizes. JIC.

first off, someone should move this to ice
fronts are 6.75"
tweeters in crash pad are 1"
back speakers are 6x9"
and infinity kappas are not "simple" by any means. the component system is 210, and the 6x9's are 110. great speakers for SQ.

I have Infinity Kappas in the front, the thing I like about them is they come with an adapter plate so that they fit perfectly in the stock holes.
BTW, Moved.

I wasn't aware the Kappas were so expensive. I guess I should have taken the price my friend tried to sell them to me for... man I missed out :-/
