I would suggest to place mothballs around your car too, it tends to keep mice away from the engine bay (wires) all you need is a squirrel chewing up your ECU's wires.

About getting to running temperature. I wasn't clear on whether to let it warm up to operating temp or to just run it for a bit and then turn it off?

Exactly!! They find someplace warm. All you need is one of them bugger's to get into your garage/storage and start messin' with stuff.

hear a loud popping noise coming from the back of the car by the exhaust (sounded like my car backfired)

look on the ground about 5 ft from the muffler (which has a nice big opening)...

....a f*cking dead rat. It was gross!!! evil.gif

 

now that's funny.... seriously though.. if you are going to block up your exhaust to keep critters out.. use steel wool. Not only does it allow the exhaust to "breath" with the change in tempeture.. but rodents cannot chew through it.

im from ny 2, and last winter, i batled the snow with the tib.
with the sport tires on, i was all over the road.
it was exciting, to say the least. the 360's u can do with the tibs are awesome 8)

I could not find anything on the web about having a CAI on during the winter. In Maryland, we get some nasty conditions sometimes too... So that leads me to my question with this.

It it positively safe to have a CAI on during the winter time? Wont' the H20 molecules freeze up inside the intake and eventually lead up to your engine the next time you start the car? I'm wanting to hear my car with this baby on and I don't know what to do.

Also, I'm cutting my CAI tube in half to install the bypass valves. Will freezing temperaturesº/sleet/snow/ice affect the CAI's honorable performance?

If anybody has any experiences with CAI's lasting through nasty winter conditions, please help!

 

I've had mine on for 2 winters, no problems
But I think I might make it into a WAI this winter, just for the hell of it.
