I think that weight includes driver and passenger weight. 3500lbs is closer to what a Camero weighs.

Default Hey all. New chick here. :)

that would mean the driver and passanger would have a combined weight of close to 1k lbs. to equal the weight of an RD1

If it says 3500 lbs. that would be the gross vehicle weight rating, meaning the car plus everything in it (passengers, cargo, etc.).

rallyman is right. Whatever made you think a RD2 would weigh more than the new clunky V6 tibbies? RD2s weigh 2700 with no one in them. When I went to the track, I went thru my dad's truck weighing scale. With me in it (155 lbs.) and about 100 lbs. out of the car, the car weighed 2745 lbs.

there aren't too many cars that are lighter than ours, save the Accent and some Hondas. Thats why Tiburons are fast from a roll compared to other cars. I've kept up with 180whp imports when I'm only putting down 134whp or so. Gearing from 2-3-4 is pretty good too.... 5th gear is weak tho.

When I was actually looking at cars I found a 1989 Lotus Elise for 20k. Wasn't that bad of my car. Couldn't afford it at the time though, and my GSX puts out enough power for now to quench the speed demon inside of me. (Oddly, my Tibby hasn't been redlined except on like 5 occasions. GSX=beat to hell lol.)

I'm probably going to get an 04 SRT-4 in about two years. Tibby and 4,000 dollars in modification= 260whp. SRT-4 with 4,000 dollars in modification= 500whp. Decisions Decisions. 8O tongue.gif
