Was there every any kind of ECU reflash to the stock ECU?
Did any companies ever come out with a reflash for RD's to give people more power? Like if I were to send a stock ECU to someone to be reflashed for NA power, could it be done?

Basically nobody does it now, and I never saw any confirmed information that anyone did it, ever, as a performance upgrade. If you want to slap on a chip and get 10HP, you picked the wrong car.

There is none that anyone is talking about. Hyundai never let anyone in on the secret of exactly-how the ECM works, and to get a proper reflash you would have to reverse-engineer the whole thing. It's not worth the effort for the people who can do it, for the hundred or fewer customers they might have.
If you really want an engine controller upgrade, look into the Megasquirt or AEM offerings. This is a dead end.

yes he is, and that garbage on ebay is just a resistor in a fancy box that you connect to your IAT sensor and it makes the ecu think its different temp outside , therefore adding some fuel and timing as if in really cold weather. "SCAM"

very good question blue2000, short of revealing any names, there was a korean member here claiming he could hack flash the ECU, there are some puerto rican members claiming they can solder something on, and flash the ECU, and then there are the rest of us who have seen several working piggyback computers that can successfully trick the ECU and run big boost. do not worry about flashing our ECU, unless you know personally, someone in the business of hacking 8-bit ECUs, and if you do, please tell us, dont worry about a simple flash. get a nice piggyback AEM in my opinion and go that route.

airbourne and mad john both had access (at some point) to flash the gk 16bit ecu and put that in the rd-... i looked into doing it at one point but delta force by sniper ended up focusing more on the genesis coupe crowd rather than the tib crowd (mind you that was for the gk ecu). if you switch over to the gk ecu (you will lose your AC) next generation motorsports and kdmstuff will both flash a 16bit ecu for $350 (i think).
