Should I do these mods???
take a look at those pics, you can see that the RAM AIR runners are slightly smaller, about 1mm that the opening of the head ports, the phenolic spacer is there as a reference, i was going to port match the whole shebang, to the size of the phenolic spacer, but i was in a rush at the time to get the car on the road, so i never did it. im sure i have some weird turbulence going on inside the ports due to the spacer. if you get the intake and head ported, make sure they hone the head smooth also, as i have seen some minor flash grooves <<< i think thats what its called, from the casting process where the two halves of the head are put together, luckily my head had no severe lines or grooves when they were cast. and the runners on the RAM AIR are baby butt smooth
I have the Onpol Special IM and TB. Basically stock parts bored out much more. I saw a small increase in the butt dyno after installing them but it wasnt much. Mods like that usually only weld big results on the much bigger displacement V8 and up engines.

bottom line: you spend that 500 bucks the way you want to and get 5-6hp OR you can do whatthe people who have been tuning these cars for years tell you and end up with a quick tib.
you definatly need to talk to dennis99. he can give you the real deal on porting your engine. my best bet would be altierHP 58mmTB with IHE and take off the powersteering and a/c belts. then do flywheel to have a good N/A setup that isnt going to cost a fortune and will preform the way you expect. then if all that isnt enough put the 500 into a NOS set up. if you still want more then turbo.

GET EM DAD!!! LOL Out of all seriousness if you plan on makin alot of power down the road like more than 150whp, Take your 500 bucks the put it in saving the. When you got around 3grand start tossing together a turbo kit. These motors starve for boost na builds blow and don't ever make much go. You can toss 15lbs at these and make300 whp with a healthy unopened motor! I say save your cash nitrous is cool and all but does end up being expesive @50 dollars a fill up if you spray alot!

what are your plans for the tib ? is it your daily driver ? do you drive you grandma to church on sundays with it ? or do you spend most of your time hanging in parking lots looking for drag races, or at the drag strip on open strip nights ? do you autocross ?
if your not willing to blow your motor, dont spray it with nos, if you want to be able to drive g'ma to church and not break down, and your hoping to have the car for the next 20-30 years, do the port and polish, and throttle body... if you are willing to blow the motor and g'ma can catch a cab, then dump a 100 shot in that puppy, some arp head studs, and do some headwork.
oh and how much is 500 canadian in dollars ? i didnt see your in canada... and your a GK owner... man the odds are so against you around here... lol

This is my daily driver and no I don't drive ma grand ma around ! I don't want NOS because with 160 000km on the engine I don't think this would be the best for it.. It still goes really good does'nt take a drop of oil... And YES I go to the dragstrip about every 3 weeks !.. Man I hate it because people are always saying to me : Man sell that hyundai and buy I real car.. Can't take it and want to prove them wrong..

I did 17,2 seconds STOCK on the quarter mile.. After headers and exhaust I ran a constant 16,6 .. Since then, I got a AEM CAI .. but Im not expecting anything out of it in the quarter mile.. Anyway.. would it be possible to run like 15,5 ?? A second less buy paying I don't know 500 to 900 bucks ?
