I have one of the Fram Quick Flow ones in my car now, and talk about a PIECE OF SHIT. Made a couple of my first oil changes interesting, but took FOREVER, and made a huge mess. Now the cover/cap will not seperate from the base unit.
I saw this over on ElantraXD

Seems like plenty of the users are happy with these.
Opinions?

I can see the good and the bad in that product. First, it would make changing oil easy. But it's too easy to open the valve as a practical joke.
I guess as long as noone knows you have it, it would be fine.

That's why you get the one with the nipple and put a plug over the end of it. Most people will not know you have it anyways. I mean there is no real difference in safety between these and your brake bleader ports, just as easy to mess with someone.
Ive always wondered about these. The seem quick and easy but no one I know has one. It seems like there are alot of good reviews on it but i would want to see how easy the valve opens. You would still have to craw under the car to open the valve and get the oil catch pan under there. (i have not found a slim catch can, I use one from advance auto and it does not fit without jacking up the car)
Personally i always carry my socket set with me in the car. Nice feature to have to save some time. Now if they came up with a quick disconnect oil filter adapter as well that would be nice.
From their website
{Safety}
1. Drive carefully at all times, and if you run over any foreign object on the road, pull over and check the valve for any damage or leak.
2. N-Series valve(with Nipple to accept hose) is not recommended for passenger cars with low ground clearance.
I then found this, as it could be applied to lowered cars
For users under extreme conditions:
If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.

T, FG Series 11/16" Clip
F Series 5/8" Clip

A real corker - If life is simply a process of trying to keep your hands clean, this little gadget from Japan will help. It replaces your oil drain plug and has a spring-loaded valve so you can drop the dirty lube quickly and without tools. We put a sample valve through the Auto Week stress-test and discovered that the valve was a quality built item, the polished valve and tight seals, and a locking feature. It withstood many hours of opening and closing. - "AutoWeek Magazine"
Goodbye drain plug - The Engine Oil Drain Valve simplifies the oil change like never before. The only thing you do to drain the oil is turn the valve's lever 90 degrees. Your hands never touch the oil, you avoid the risk of stripping the oil pan threads, and valve's double seals make it leak proof. - "Handyman Magazine"
Oil changes can be easy as turning lever - A one time replacement with Fumoto valve eliminates all inconveniences associated with conventional drain plugs. Our test of the valve proved to be a total success. this product should make oil change faster and easier, eliminating much of the oil-change procrastination that serves only to shorten engine life. - "Motorhome Magazine"
I would be willing to give it a shot.

Is it really that hard/time consuming for people to unbolt a 17mm nut? LOL. I can do it without even getting oil on my hands.
Having a leaver would just make me add to the things I need to keep an eye out with my car.

meh...
its plenty easy enough to remove a drain bolt, since you will prob have to jack up the car anyway. i guess some people just want it made easier.. i would be to weary about that thing popping up, opening itself and pull a dweet (where his plug came out while driving and BOOM.)
you only need to change oil every 3000 miles, its not that hard to bring out the jack, jack it up, use a 17mm, unbolt, drain, tighten up.
