is it that hard to turn the one bolt to let the oil drain out?

17 mm socket and wrench-... done

you could even weld a socket to the bolt and just plug in the rachet and turn-...

it just seems like a product that makes even one of the most mindless tasks even easier.

somebody prolly made a million+ bucks off this simple idea-...

so this keeps your hands from getting dirty? so does paying someone else to do it.

i guess if changing your own oil is so hard or even a hassel, then yes buy one or pay someone else to do it!

Agreed. I would never use one of these in the slightest event that it may fail. I got my oil changes down to about 15 minutes anyways, so its very quick.

Are you serious!? What kind of friends do you have that would do that? That's not a practical joke, that's a lawsuit.

do you catch a lot of stuff on your magnetic oil drain plug? Ive seen those magnets that you put around your oil filter but never really though they would do much.

Are you seriously trying to save the time it takes to remove and install the drain plug? It only takes like 15 seconds to remove it and 15 to install it.

Why risk some POS quick drain plug to save that small amount of time?

The thing Im not sure about is its going to stick in the pan some most likely and the oil and maybe particles of whatever would still be in there. You wouldnt be getting it all out.

Bah, some of yous guys are sissies.

I'd like a better version of what I have for a few reasons.

1. You tighten it in place once, and never worry about cross threading, or damaging anything again.
2. You put a HOSE on the nipple and drain your oil directly into a hole in a container, instead of having it splash everywhere.
3. No more hot oil on my hands, or spilling elsewhere. I've got a good sized oil drainer, but it still makes a mess I've gotta clean up.
4. No one would be able to reach mine witout the car being jacked up, my car is pretty frigging low.

Talk shit if you want to, but if you haven't had one of these systems, you don't know how much nicer it can be to change your oil. The fram one was nice, when it worked, but SLOW> That's not a problem with this one.

It's funny that you say it's a POS, when it's one of the nicest and highest recommended ones out there. Dozens of members of EXD have them installed.

Instead of talking about the OEM plug, why not READ THE THREAD and see why I'm going to get one?

we are sissies?

cuz we are willing to spend the extra 30 seconds to not get a product that has a chance, even if it is a SLIM chance, to fail.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>1. You tighten it in place once, and never worry about cross threading, or damaging anything again.</div>
if someone has to worry about cross threading or damaging something while they take the drain bolt out, they are morons. they should be having someone else change their oil.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>2. You put a HOSE on the nipple and drain your oil directly into a hole in a container, instead of having it splash everywhere.</div>
unless you are jacking your car up to the high heavens, when you take your plug out, its not gonna splash everywhere. thats why they make drain pans.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>3. No more hot oil on my hands, or spilling elsewhere. I've got a good sized oil drainer, but it still makes a mess I've gotta clean up.</div>
you get oil on your hands while you are draining your oil? maybe you should be one of those people that get it changed. i have never had hot oil splash on my hands while draining the oil. and it makes no mess. drains right into drain pan and voila. all done.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>4. No one would be able to reach mine witout the car being jacked up, my car is pretty frigging low.</div>
without this thing, that wouldn't be a worry anyway. and when you hit something in the road, you wont have to worry about the valve being turned and instantly releasing your oil.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Talk shit if you want to, but if you haven't had one of these systems, you don't know how much nicer it can be to change your oil. The fram one was nice, when it worked, but SLOW> That's not a problem with this one.</div>
there no point to having this, unless your too lazy to use a socket and 15 seconds or less of your time. OR if your worried that you will cross thread or damage your drain bolt.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's funny that you say it's a POS, when it's one of the nicest and highest recommended ones out there. Dozens of members of EXD have them installed.</div>
of course dozens of lazy members will recommend something that lets them save a few seconds of time. and the incompetant members that have to worry about getting oil on their hands, cross threading and damaging stuff during this simple, mindless task.

thats just my opinon.

your still gonna need a drain pan for when you replace the oil filter.

it's not my money-... spend it however you'd like!
