Coilovers in.

Ride height, not at all as expected.

Huge rake angle.

Drives, er, different...

Note to self, just because unloaded strut length is set the same, does not mean that loaded length will be the same, especially with different spring rates...

Front slammed 1.5" by accident, rear raised 2" by accident...

I will be fixing that ASAP... For now I want to be on stock, and just play with the dampening...

Not to be a prat, but are the fronts on the front and the rears on the rear? It would make for some pretty intense rake if you mixed it up.

They all only fit in their proper places, and that was double checked.

This is a case of "Hm, let's match OEM strut length to get a baseline" and me forgetting that they would compress to different height when loaded...

About to do the third oil change on the car today, did two yesterday.

Thank god Mobil 1 is on sale...

Oh, yeah. This is part of an extended flush procedure, to clear out all the chunky monkey dung that was in the oil system, dislodged by the first fill of Royal Purple. Sadly the fire sale of 10W-40 is over, and I was strapped for cash...

First step was a drain and fill with a new filter and a quart of Royal Purple 10w-40 topped off with #2 diesel, and a 15 minute idle with the IAC valve unplugged.

Drain till dripping stops.

Change filter, full shot of Mobil 1 10W-30, drive for a half hour or so, no heavy "floor it!!!" load.

This is the last part of the magic, the final fill.

Finally got the heat shield in place, turned out just as good as I expected.

Grill paint is awesome like that.

Till the photos from the coilover install get uploaded, here's a "through the window" shot of the rake on the car...

I used VHT 2000 degree grille paint. Still holding up in the engine bay after 2 years! not so much on the exhaust below where the water splashes...

Block getting a deep clean in the electrolyte tank.

Let's make that oil filter a bit more remote... Already cut off the threaded part by this point.

What do you guys think of doing a 3mm overbore and switching to 4G63 pistons, machining custom wrist pin spacers to compensate for the 2mm diameter difference, and getting a 2.1L engine with a 93.5mm stroke?
