My point was to inform him that the post he was replying to was 6 months old.

I ran it that way before I went for my track weekend in the fall, car ran noticibly better but my PVC was clogged aswell and I replaced it. Still runs like a champ so I see no reason to run it back. She likey the clean air fing02.gif
NVS, because the cans have the mesh filter element in there, there is no residue, thus the purpose of the can lol. Its just the gases that pass through. And who the hell cleans their engine bay? lmao.gif I get to it maybe once a year laugh.gif
Before when I just had it off the valve onto a breather (no can) yeah, the filter was soaked with oil everyother week.
After the 1000mi with it on there ran like it is, the breather is as clean as the day I bought it.

yeah, your right about the breather being on teh "type" of can, i take that back. i just don't know how many times i have seen a riced out civic with a breather catch can and the engine bay looking like a damn oil slick. got the two confused.

There is a thread here, in one of the catch can discussions, where they talk about the loss of power from NOT having your PCV hooked up to vacuum, and how some use their exhaust as a vacuum for it. I'm not going to go look it up, but I know my car ran worse when the PCV was vented, and when it was T'd into a line with the valve cover vent.
The problem with using stock check valves from Autozone is that you don't know how much boost can they handle without leaking and whatnot. I found this very cheap valve that seems to be rated for a lot:

Planning on running this inline with the PCV valve and a catch can. Ideally I would have dual catch cans, one for the PCV and one for the breather, with the latter venting to atmosphere.

Also, as a note for the boosted guys... you should replace the stock PCV Valve to a boosted type for a peace of mind. The turbo Talon/Eclipse PCV Valves works well with the Beta. Exactly the same threads and dimensions
