According to HyundaiKitCoupe, the supports inluded with the OEM RD1 3-pillar spoilers are #81770-27021. I'm pretty sure all RD1s use #81770-27010. RD2s use #81770-27011. 27010 and 27011 are not interchangeable, so the 27021 must only fit RD1, and I guess the "2" signifies a stronger charge? Pure speculation on my part. All I know is that I would like to have supports powerful enough to make the trunk open completely on its own.

As for under the hood use, I posted this in another thread:

Example 1.

Example 2.

Why you have to use two.

LoL...are we so lazy that we have to convert to hydraulic lifts to aid in lifting the hood up?

You know you want it. laugh.gif:

Speaking of lazy, I want door poppers so I don't even have to use the handle.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Mad-Machine)</div><div class='quotemain'>I am pretty sure that the struts that hold up my wingless hatch are weaker than those with the Shark spoiler..</div>

I second that: I bought a set of hatch shocks from a 99 tib. FX, different part numbers and deffenately pop up faster, all I have to do is press the release latch and the hatch flies open, its great. Oh, and I have a 97 base model, no spoiler. I still have the stock 97 shocks, I may give this hood idea a shot.

I can get part nubmers if yo uguys want.

So you guys are saying the hatch is supposed to raise fully on its own? Mine just pops open a few inches, then I have to raise it the rest of the way...

In the summer... mine does. If it doesn't I can reach back and give it a SLIGHT push (from the driver's seat) and it goes right up. In the winter, because the compressed Nitrogen (I think that is what is in the arms) is cold and lacks pressure, the hatch needs help to rise.
