Hood Damper kit?
Does anyone know of a place where i could find a smooth working hood damper kit? (for those of you who don't know it changes the way your hood opens, it slides up and open very easily rather than using your arm then setting up that black stick in place)
Looking to spend around $150. Any Suggestions?

hmmmm....
you might be able to just get a set of "lifts" from the hatch and get those to work. im guessing the hatch is a lot heavier though, which might make the hood fly up real fast.

^^ Probably cheapest bet (for your price range). If your hood is stock, I think they probably weigh around the same thing. The spoiler is around 16 or so, and the hatch around 20. Hood should be around 36... I'd give it a try.

aint no way the hatch is around 20 with all that glass.

Like he said. The hatch is WAY heavier than the hood. The hatch must weight close to 40lbs (I had to take it down when I painted the car, and I remember it was VERY heavy).
The hood would probably fly with 2 dampers from the hatch. However, with only one it might work.

it also depends on what hatch struts you use. I am pretty sure that the struts that hold up my wingless hatch are weaker than those with the Shark spoiler.. and even then, on a hot day I can hit the hatch release and it springs into the air.

You have to use two, or it will end up making your hood sit and close unevenly because it stresses the hinges.

That's what I need! I bought a remote trunk release kit for my alarm, but I'm still looking for supports for my 2000. Maybe I can get more powerful ones while I'm at it, since I've about given up on used.
