<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (iamcyclopseatme)</div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (tibwrcsbj)</div><div class='quotemain'>CHEAP and HP dont go together.

now FREE .......

how about the resonator removal, and the TB coolant bypass......

all of you think those are expensive mods??

C'mon guys.......</div>

C'mon nothing.. Check what this thread is about.. He wants horsepower.. That TB coolant bypass isnt going to give you squat.. Youd be lucky to get .5 whp.. And resonator removal, you might gain 2 whp.. Thats not horsepower in my opinion, its nothing you can feel atleast.. ;/ What everyone is getting at is HP = Money.. Simple fact, live by it, deal with it ;/</div>

#1.) What I posted is EXACTLY what he is looking for.
#2.) There have been a few threads Like this in the past WHERE BOTH OF THOSE MODS WERE RECOMMENDED........the "C'mon" was SIMPLY because NONE of you happened to mention them. 3 Months ago these mods would have been some of the FIRST mods mentioned in a thread like this.......But i guess they dont fit the "Cheap HP" bill anymore.......on that note, he NEVER SAID HOW MUCH HP HE WAS LOOKING FOR.

I'm not going to argue w/ you about the AEM becuase it is fairly cheap and gives good HP.....but The AIR RAM IM is cheap......Not the last time i looked into it. AND the only Dyno I've seen about it showed ....... WOW a 2 HP gain.......It did show a substantial gain in TORQUE, but phenom aske about HP, not power in general.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Iamcyclopeseatme)</div><div class='quotemain'>Btw, Instead of bashing me, just tell me.. Your not above me because you have a turbo, so dont think you are..</div>

3.) Instead of going and b****ing about NEWBIE posts in GRIPES, why dont you.....
--a.)point them in the right direction...
--b.)Tell them where to go look...
--c.)or tell them how to use the search feature (Like i did for phenom in another thread).
--d.)Take some of your own advice.....You DID post the above quote in another thread, DID YOU NOT?????

4.) At some point you were a NEWB too.

knowledge wont buy you parts, but if you have enough of it, you can make your own.

or figure out ways to get reliable power cheaper.

The ULTIMATE goal here either way is to be FASTER then the next guy/gal. The only inexpensive way I can think of to achieve this w/out the risk of "the getting what you pay for" phenomenon is to consider weight reduction. Although reducing the vehicles weight will NOT render any actual HP gains, it does however contribute to the efficiency of the existing HP in the respective vehicle.

Hell you can even make $$$ on weight reduction, selling off your rear seats and seat-belts, spare tire & jack, all trunk & some interior panels, a bolt here a bolt there....then take that $$$ and buy some good performance parts and viola!

There are formulas out there that help you "estimate" your HP based on ET and ET based on HP and weight etc....

That's true but you still need money to get the materials to make the parts and to get tools that you need...I guess if you have the knowledge and the money then you're in bussiness. In the beginning I had to pay people to do the more difficult jobs on my car BUT I learned by watching them. So basically I paid for knowledge and can do most of the work on my own now. Money well spent. wink.gif

no, he removes it because he uses his short ram intake as a cai and places it where the headlight should be when he's on the track

*DOUBLE POST*

Didn't kspec claim 15-20hp increase with the bbtb+airram on NA cars?

Yes they did......but you also have to remember that we (US/CA) got the bastard ECU. we have MAF, they have MAP, that could account for some of the differences in HP that have been shown.

also, and I said this before....... THE AIR RAM IM is NOT CHEAP!!!!! especially when you add a good TB to it. thats close to, if not more than, $800.00 US Dollars.....so why even bother to bring it back up.

No, the Airram IM ISN'T cheap. Sorry, good parts never are.

As for the gain. Come on man, with your memory you SHOULD know this. The only full dyno done was done on Wattsupp's messed up engine. He had about 5 MAJOR PROBLEMS on his engine and still got a 2 WHP and 14 TQ gain. Imagine what it is without them issues. I will get a dyno done when I install mine, but with the altitude here, it won't be frantastic.

1. Don't double post again.

2. Read the forum rules.

3. No, Kspec doesn't claim that, the MFR claims that and we translated that.

LISTEN UP FOLKS...

Cut out the offtopic ownage crap. Someone new is here and you are setting a very bad example for the way this site runs. I'm not here 24 hours a day to police anymore, so get it together. The answer to his question is simple.

1. What do you want to do with your car?

2. What are your HP or Speed goals?

3. What kind of money do you have to spend?

4. What is currently done to the car?

I'm tired of the crap.
