Floating Rpm's And Shaky Idle
Hi All,
So from the research I've done, I've seen that floating RPM's can be cause by a faulty TPS right? Is there anything else that could cause this?
My other symptoms are a rough and shaky idle. I am just picking up the car now. I need to check the plugs, and rotor and such. Wires look good though. I also know there is an exhaust leak near the manifold, I read that could also cause a rough idle.
Any ideas?

If you have a check engine light, mention that. If you don't have a check engine light on, then it is burned out, and you still need to get your codes read.

Well, the Keifco's can go out too, so run through the normal list. New car? Get new plugs and wires.
...
And did you say ROTOR?
LOL
The rotors on our cars are in the brake system.
The exhaust leak, if the exhaust manifold is cracked, it's a manufacturer recall.

Like REDZ said, the Kefico can go out also, mine did.

What would throw a CEL? Exhaust leak doesn't always throw, TPS doesn't and plugs/wires only would throw a code if it misfired.

What kind of ignition system does this engine use?
I don't have any CEL, and I will check later on in the day if I have any codes.
The wires look new, I'll probably change them with the plugs anyway, just to eliminate them from the problem.
I have to check exactly where the exhaust is leaking, could be from the flex as well, I could just hear the leak closer to the front of the car.
I'll give you guys/gals an update when I manage to take care of these tasks...Thanks for all the help fing02.gif
