Exhaust Help
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TibRacer01)</div><div class='quotemain'>On the plus side, I have had 6 people ask me if I installed a turbo when they hear my exhaust
.</div>
heh why... my exhaust sounds awesome on my elantra but bad on my tib. Im using silencers in both. But its really mellow and deep on my elantra. It has the Apexi N1 "style" in it. Which if the outlet is the same size of your true N1 then my extra silencer wont work because its for my tib.

I don't know. I don't think that it sounds like a turbo, people just keep asking me. Everyone around here thinks that a turbo makes your exhaust sound like crap. I don't agree with them, but there is actually one guy who will not install a turbo because he does not like the sound!! I think that the sound is incredible!!!
*Update*
Ok, last night I installed my CAI, tightened a few bolts on my exhaust, and put on a new gasket at the header. It sounds much better.
I can now live with this. When I am driving normal, it sounds mean!
The only problem is when I push the throttle over 1/2 way it buzzes pretty bad. I am assuming this is due to not having a cat and for the power that I gained, it is not worth doing anything to.
One more question though, I did finally throw a CEL. It is not on right now because I reset my ECU last night, but I am sure that it will come back. My friends dad has a computer that he can program stuff with (he works on cars so he knows what he is doing). Can he go in and do something to the computer to tell it that there is nothing wrong with it? I have heard of this being done before at the dealership, but I am sure that they will not do it for me since my set up isn't exactly what you would call street legal.

The test pipe replaces the CAT. It is basicly just a piece of pipe. I am taking mine off this weekend and will be selling it if your interested drop me a PM.
BTW it is the SSAutochrome one.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nsane)</div><div class='quotemain'>ok first off why do you want it quieter!? lol
and second of all where do u get the test pipes and for how much?
is the test pipe just a downpipe?</div>
Doode, before I worked on it last night, you could hear the thing from like 1/2 mile away and I would hate to be pulled over and asked why my car was so loud. It also sounded like crap!! The problem was that the stock gasket on the engine was shot and made a massive leak. That is fixed right now and I am happy with it. My exhaust is still loud though. I cannot hear my intake over the exhaust.
My "Racing Cat" came with my KRD Header. If you don't have a header, check importshark.com. The 4-1 header is exactly what I have excpet I bought mine off someone here.

Do you have any pics of your setup? The test pipe usually replaces the second CAT. Normally the header install requires the romoval of the 1st so then you only have one. Then the test pipe replaces that one. If you can picture directly under your front seats that is about where the 2nd CAT is, it is alos about 13.5 inches long if that helps.
