ok, so my ssautochrome header touches the bottom of the my tranny, some one over on nt.com (i think) told me to dent them before I came here. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this/advice?? should I remove them from the car before doing it?
thanks

Well I had and still have this same problem. I have grinded down the flange to is minimum safe thickness and it still rattles some. I wouldn't bend it tho. Most likley if you do that it wount match up correctly to the CAT and even if you do manage the connection it will sque (SP?) the extire exhaust system off tilt. If it bothers you that much I would just replace it. Depending on the GB price for the Manitec headers it could be an option for both you and myself lol.gif .
i dont think it is actually hitting the tranny is it.... its like an engine mounting plate or something. the guy that helped me with my install said we could cut a piece out of that sucker and all those lil vibrations would go away... but who knows
its just a peice of metal than can be trimmed a little and it wont hit it anymore.
DON'T EVER LISTEN TO ANY ADVICE THOSE RETARDS AT NT.com GIVE YOU.....come here first.
while we know alot about their cars.....thier GOD COMPLEX has limited them on the info that THEY have about OUR cars.

"no... but my beta is better than your elisa wink1.gif"
I have the SSautochrome 4-2-1 header set-up. I got fed up with the vibrations noise, so I took a dremel to the aluminum plate and nicely cut a notch just enough to clear the flange, voila, no vibration noise anymore!

so what, is it just a guard?? if so I'll just cut out the whole thing off. It looked like a guard but since there wasn't a way to easily remove it I figured I'd get some advice first. laugh.gif

NO... dont take the whole thing off... its obviously there for a reason dood. just do like speedblind said and cut a notch out of it... do something like that... do NOT take the whole thing off.
Just a notch big enough to relieve the flange is all you really need. There is no need to remove the whole plate, since it does gaurds around the tranny's oil pan, it wouldn't be a good idea to remove it, it does serve a purpose, believe it or not.
