Why don't you just torch the pipe and bend it down instead of banging and/or cutting stuff. :?:

You wouldn't even have to remove anything. Oxy-acetylene works wonders. I had a similar problem with my HVE headers and MagnaFlow cat vibrating against the brace...a little heat and elbow grease, and the problem was fixed without impeding the flow or weakening the brace.

 

i still say you just bang the shit out of it with a hammer.
