<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (fonseca)</div><div class='quotemain'>Those items needed immediate replacement. It was either buy oem from my local Hyundai, which I certainly don't have the funds for, or get some good deals online. The air box wasn't even from a Hyundai, and it lacked the resonator. It was just tossed in there before the car was sold.</div>

Or, and I know this sounds crazy, you could have contacted us.

Some of us have perty big stockpiles of extra parts.

Most of us with CAI's have airboxes sitting around.

With the resonator. Though, I can't imagine why ANYONE would want one on their car. Sounds like a great dealer to buy from BTW.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The shifter could not even get into 1st 50% of the time withough a terrible grating sound. That POS needed immediate replacement in order to prevent damage.</div>

You didn't state that before, but again, I've got an OEM shifter sitting right here. I would have given it away for free.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A cracked manifold certainly can't wait. I couldn't pass inspection. The OBX was cheaper than a used OEM manifold, and certainly a better choice.</div>

OBX wouldn't have been cheaper than buying an OEM from one of us. BTW, that happens to be the one item that I was saying was a problem.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Quality does count.</div>

Yup.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>These three purchases are far better than the OEM products and cost less.</div>

Far better? Yes. Cost less? Hell no. Read above.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>read my last post. I already explained that.</div>

Nope, you didn't.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I sure did. My conclusion was that the AEM wasn't worth the added cost for how I will use this car.</div>

Oh. And how will you use this car? Again, if cost is the issue, than you should have got an OEM intake, for less than 50, or probably just S/H to get it out of our hands here.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Not much, and it already has a good bit of use. I got my money out of it long ago in saved filter replacement costs.</div>

Uh huh. Not much = $60 lol.gif

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Well, my Tib is a four-year old vehicle with 67,000 miles already.</div>

Nothing compared to most of them here mang.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's certainly not the best of the best.</div>

Not with those parts. wink.gif

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm not planning on any shows.</div>

I was guessing this.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I doubt I'll even go to my local track more than a handful of times.</div>

Don't blame you, tracks are boring.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>This is my daily driver.</div>

Doode, we are talking Hyundai's here. These are almost ALL of our daily drivers.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's going to see a lot of miles, winter driving, and muddy bikes mounted on the roof.</div>

Besides the bike, ditto.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Oh damn...  </div>

idea.gif   :!:

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Can't say it now, only if and when I replace it with an AEM. And I gotta say, I don't see it happening.</div>

I can say it now.

It.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It looks very well made actually, the welds are nice and the finish is too. The hoses and fittings are also high quality. I definitely got my money's worth for $60 shipped. It was an awesome buy AFAIC.</div>

Oh, no one said it wasn't made well. But a copy of a piece of shit is still a piece of shit.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>If I get 20hp total out of the CAI, header and full exhaust I will be thrilled. But even if it's only 10hp I don't really care too much. These things all had to be replaced immediately so I could get my car on the road.</div>

This would have cleared up most of everything earlier.

Glad you are happy with your purchaces.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I think we're coming from very different places in terms of product need.</div>

Word.

wow, I'm looking at 2 8 yr old arguing with each other.... I'm sure you all heard this before:
"arguing over the internet is like winning special olympics, even if you win you are still retarded!"

There is no need to prove anything to anyone, so both of you relax and stop acting like kids!!!

GOSH!!!

Just joking, but seriously, there are cheap alternatives as stated way above in the post thank you very much. Until I see a dyno from an AEM AND a cheap ass alternative knockoff or other, and the AEM gives 10hp to the wheels while the others give 1 hp to the wheels there will be alternatives. It just depends on how anal retentive you are... lol.gif

yeah but the AEM is the only one that goes into the wheel well, with the rest you might as well slap a K&N onto the end of your MAF

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Mad-Machine)</div><div class='quotemain'>You, me, and I think Java have that intake... personally, I love it because it is different from all others, it was cheaper, and the air path is so much shorter. The Filter is also not hanging down near the botoom of the car, but a little above foglight height up inside the fender.

Getting a LOT of use out of these pics

From the passenger side:

From the Drivers:

You can see how the battery is moved and the aluminum tube disappears into the lower fender area...

And the new pics without so much red (any my nice new and light battery!)

That 1 looks like it goes into the well to me, and mine does too tongue.gif
