After an automatic -> manual swap what is needed to make the cruise still work? Something needs to be done to the driveshaft to read RPMs right?
or what, i'm confused..

I wish I could help you on that. I've been trying to figure that out myself for over a year now. Even asked twice on here.

Nothing on webtech except for information on AUTOMATICS, and schematics .. but all of the electrical is there, so those don't really help. Yes the TB cable is connected to the pulley, etc. I don't know what else is needed to make the cruise work, obviously the engine needs to read the gear and RPMs right? I've heard of aftermarket cruise systems being something like a magnet on the drive shaft?

i believe its all electronic

Just make sure you have the control unit, the vacuum hose, and the secondary throttle cable, as well as having the harness hooked up

I've gone through all of this. Replaced the cruise unit and vacuum pump under the hood. Tested the ohms and continuity at all of the plugs and switches. Still haven't figured why it won't work. Good luck to you and I hope you figure it out because I miss my cruise control. sad.gif sad.gif

where is the cruise control vacuum hose connected?

From what i remember.. the auto to manual swap should not affect the cruise control

but being that the throttle cables and all the electrical things are there, the only thing left that could be bad are the vacuum hose(s?) and the unit itself (i doubt either of these just randomly went..)

So, how does the cruise read the engine's RPM's? for example your going up a hill, the cruise wil accelerate to keep you at the same speed, if I were to guess, THAT is the problem..because automatics have the OD gear whereas manuals have 5th? so the ratios may be different? (ie, 4000rpm in 5th in a manual is a different speed than 4000 rpm in OD in an auto), and the cruise needs those numbers to adjust your speed.

or am i way off sad.gif
