If you shift b4 6000 your revs will be to low in the next gear, and you'll lose momentum and be slower 02.gif

So better to shift on Redline 6000RPM???? What about shifting without releasing the accelerator??? I have do that, and you loose only 750 RPM between shifting than the regular 1500 RPM....

Yeah, Redline is about 6700, and peak power & torque is between 5000 -> 6000.
If you shift at 6000 -> 6500 you will be outside the peak range but you should be just coming into it in the next gear. laugh.gif
As for not releasing the accel, I don't know if it will make much diff in times, but whatever floats ya boat wink.gif

Col is right, you don't want to shift past 6000, torque starts to drop off quickly at or around 5600 rpms...depending on your car..

TiburonWao you should be able to feel the difference, before you shift. Just take it out and you'll feel the difference between where the power comes and goes.

Just the today I was going to work and had a guy pull out in front of me. I don't know why but I looked at my rpms as I shoulder checked, I noticed I was around 3000 in third, I dropped it down into 2nd and pulled around the guy. (first reaction cause I didn't think I could stop) After I cooled down and the adreneline stopped pumping I tried it again. (I enjoyed the pull laugh.gif ) This time I was watching my rpms, they went from around 3000 up to 4700 or so, when I shifted. So I'll assume for now my peak torque in 2nd is around there.
