1/4Mile Tips
Hi....
Just asking for some advices and number about a 1999 Tiburon 1.8 DOHC 1/4 mile time.... COMPLETELY STOCK
I need real numbers... doesn't matter if you have a 2.0 or 1.6
I will try into a Drag race this Sunday just before installing the Turbo Kit so I can see the real gain......
Can you people tell me tips like: better RPM to shift, begining RPM before green light appear, etc.....
The Only weight reduction that I will have is taking out the replacement tire and RIM.
Thanks a lot guys

ummm try not to drop the clutch into 1st gear. Slip it out slowly and reach 4k-5k and then shift into 2nd, which for me pulls the hardest in the 1/4. Then when u feel the slightest loss of acceleration shift into 3rd and sometimes i finish in 3rd sometimes 4th, just depends on what happens.

just redline it</div>
I think our car's peak power is at 6200-6300 but redline's at 6700 (I think???) I'm not sure what our peak torque is at specifically, around 4800 or so. If you go too high you lose a bit of power. I remember actually feeling going above 6500, (just once) it just stops pulling like Supermanwoot said.
It's kinda like NFS Underground, you gotta shift just at the right time. lol.gif

I just said that's where my car and most other Tibs make their peak power at. Shift wherever you want..I wasn't repling to your comment Wattsup..I was responding to Silver stating that our peak power lies between 6200 to 6300 rpms.
