So now I have the Beta hanging in the engine bay. I Have most of the wiring figured out I have a few issues though (which I will post about tomorrow when I can get pics of the problems. But anyways, This has been quite a learning experience since I'm doing everything alone, with a 200 piece tool set, a heavy duty electric impact wrench and an engine hoist. Honestly When this is all said and done I might have $1200.00 dollars into the whole thing including the price of the car.

Here is a dirty unfinished piture of the engine hangin in the bay.

Your gutted interior pics make me want to vomit, they remind me of the nightmare that was my swap. whatever you do DO NOT remove the dash. I did it to make my wiring easier. My wiring plan failed and I had to wrestle that POS dash back into place.

Please go with the 1.6 ECU. I used the 2.0 ECU w/CVVT and it was a trainwreck. It runs just as a stock BetaII should but everyone seems to say the 1.6 works great as well and it sounds a MILLION times easier.

If you haven't figured out the mounts yet I can take pictures for you of the mount that I had to change. but here it is in a nutshell:

The two lower tranny mounts can stay stock. I used the Beta mounts only because they were a little beefier and I figured bigger was better (that's what she said).

Passenger side mount I used the one that ryanolson used to sell. I had to clean up some of the drill holes to get it to fit and I'm not even sure if I have it facing the right way.

The drivers side mount I believe was the Beta or a combination of both ? you can judge by my pictures tomorrow. I cut the mount in half because it was too thick (that's what she said) and I had to cut out all of the inner material because the mount I had on the engine did not line up with the centre of the engine bay mount.

That drivers side mount is ugly but it works and the Beta sits square and level.

Let me know if you need anything else. I used a MAF based 04 so I can't help you on wiring but between jsharptooth and myself, we got your back.

The problem I have come into with sorting the wiring out is the coils. I need to look at the alpha coils and figure that out. I also cannot find the IAT, and the purge valve sensor wires???? I'm gonna get my cousin to bring my XD to the house so I can compare wires as well.

Oh and I may have a lead on a shop in Florida that can reflash the 1.6 ECU to have the 2.0 maps!!! There is a thread on EXD about it. If that works he is going to sell tuning kits (that are cheaper than the AEM fic) that are plug and play and you can get rid of certain parameters (such as o2 sensors and what not for emissions)

You can use the Alpha coils on the Beta, some people have had trouble getting the Beta coils to work with the Alpha ECU.

I have the full factory ETM for my 03 Accent and most of the wiring is similar (seems like some color differences is about it) so if you have any Accent wiring questions I'll look it up for you.
