Re-using a 1.8l ECU w/ 2.0

The differnce between the 1.8L and 2.0L is NOT 10WHP as its about 5WHP and have Dynoyed my 1.8l stock a while back.My 1.8L tiburon dynoyedf at 100WHP and a 2.0L which was Dynoyed by BATLORD recieved 104 WHP or close to that
Now regarding the differnce between the 1.8L and 2.0L they are TOTALLY 100% programmed differntly excluding coolant temp, air temp, TPS, crank position, cam angle, road speed, sensors as RED stated But the FUEL curves and your injectors pulses at idle are Different between the two ECU's.
The 1.8L is defently programmed more RICHER than the 2.0L ECU as i has tested both of thses ECU's in my car.The injector pulses at idle would stay OPENED LONGER as opposes to the 2.0L ECU.
When i had the 1.8L ECU is my Tiburon my A/F gauge would hardly bounce up and down and seemed to always READ RICH,but when the 2.0L ECU was installed it was a differnt story and the car was more responsive.
If it was me i would keep your 1.8L motor and not convert it to a 2.0L espically if you do decide to go Turbo in the Future as RED was saying it would be better for Turbo tahn a 2.0L motor.
Its not worth the money to just get 5WHP to change over IMHO!

If you use the 1.8L crank, you have to use the 1.8L rods. If you used shorter rods as a method to reduce compression, while it would technically work (ie your compression WOULD be lower) it would also DRASTICALLY affect how your car runs for the worse.
The pistons must come up in the cylinder bores as far as possible for best combustion. If you want lower compression, you build a dish in the piston itself, but the piston still comes all the way up the cylinder bore.
The term is called "squish" and if you mess with it, a LOT of things go to hell.
