so if i went with a turbo. i would also have to get pistons and rods, along with a new fuel pump right? or at least an upgraded one. then i would maybe need to get an s-afc. along with what else?

i mean, for me to get a turbo right now. would be in the range of 3800$. my friend custom makes them. but that right there is a price of an engine almost, isnt it?

If you're looking for real power, an S-AFC won't hack it. Be prepared for 1000+ for a proper engine management system.

And sure, you can get a real nice engine for that price. But then there's the transmission, and the axles. And then the install--custom fabrication and whatnot ramps up towards $10K. Unless you've got a full metal shop to use for free, the costs of shoehorning those suckers in there run up pretty quick.

is that at 10 psi? with changing out the pistons, rods, and fuel pump? i all ready have an exhaust, and would prolly get headers and a full cat back. you are saying that i could almost triple my hp by only that? i dont know that much about cars, but thats a real hefty hike in hp.

i'm sure you could run more thatn 10psi with low compression pistons and such that are made for higher boost applications.

Erm, you do realize that you need a turbo manifold, which replaces your exhaust headers?

Also, serious turbos will run at least 1-1.5 bar(14.5-22 psi), which is what the stronger rods are for wink

And I'm not so sure that you could get the tuning in under that $3800 limit. The kit can come in under the wire, but dyno time for the new EMS will run you a bit too.

right, i got the stronger rods and pistons part.

and the 3800$ would be just for the customer made turbo for my car. the dyno time for me wount be that bad, the would only charge me 50$ per pass.

and what is the difference between regular headers and the turbo manifold?
