I see some tibs in Korea that have done Nissan SR20 swaps. I have been saving up and finally bought an SR20 engine and all the components. I dont have a transmission yet and this is what Im trying to figure out. Whats involved with getting it to fit and sit in the tib like the ones in Korea? Im searching for a shop now that will do the transplant. I ordered a stand alone and hope to have that here soon since I know the stock ECU cant be used.

Ahhh! Nissan motor in a Hyundai, that is like blasphemy or something. Good luck with that and keep us informed, it should be a beast.

front wheel drive sr20 jobby yeah???

cause if it was a rwd then ur stuffed
unless you could get a fwd sr20 manual trans and somehow stuff it all in

you would need custom driveshafts most likely

 

Ive never seen one personally. But I would think its safe to assume you will need the transmission that goes along with the sr20 as well as the entire wiring harness...

 

Wiring will be a nightmare but since Im doing a stand alone it shouldnt be too hard. Im hoping to pick up a couple of transmissions soon for trial and error.

 

It's not a swap I would have picked personally, but it'll be interesting at least.

Be ready, you've got a big headache ahead of you though.

not a bad idea but i think a 4G63T swap would e easier IMO.
