I have been thinking about the poweraxel tune. Anybody have any feedback on it?

Love it.

Automatic or Manual? What are your long term mod goals for the engine?

I too was curious about this. And about which seems to have a better reputation, the PowerAxel or Beyond Redline...

I'm going with the PRW PA tune when I get back. Hey, Majik Man, anyway we get Pirahna RaceWerks over here? BadBoyBill has some killer tunes, and they have a pretty sick Garrett intercooler kit.

Between PA and BR, I think BR has the most presence, better tunes, and more options for tunes.

Both PA and BR utilize the same PowerAxel module. However, the BR map's run at higher boost so you'll get better gains. One thing to note is if you were like me and new to the turbo scene, that you could run the potential of having clutch slip in higher gears. I ran into this problem when I had my 2.0T. I always wondered if I went with the PA tune if I wouldn't have had that issue since it's running at a lower psi. So that's my $.02, be prepared to have some money set aside for a stronger clutch.

That being said, a reflash is freaking awesome! Especially with the torque gains you're getting, it'll definitely pull you back when you gas it

Yeah, with a reflash you're gonna want a new clutch that's a good thing. Gotta handle that power!

Hijinx, if you have communication with him, we welcome him here. I'm not familiar with what products/services they provide but we welcome them.

I have the PRW's base tune and love it. BRTcc has some really nice tunes as well. BR is well established and they are great tuners, if you are near TurboXS, they can do custom tunes. You could also buy a CMD, but if you know little to nothing about tuning, it would be best to get a tuner. Im not sure how the autotune feature works. It really just boils down to what your goals are. If you are patient and can wait, the open source is almost here. If you got the cash, you could also wait for Haltech. Again, what are your goals. Also, I doubt you will need a new clutch on a base tune, but anymore you will want to save. I have approx 4k on mine and its fine. It will slip once in a while, but i also learned how to drive a clutch on this car so im sure that had something to do with it.

I have a BR PA reflash and I couldn't be happier. Nearly 300 lb-ft of torque is a ton of fun

Yeah, man. PRW PA is 298 ft/lbs. BR PA is 296 ft/lbs.
