I dont know if the code is before the cat or after.
I got a new battery and now i dont have as much wire, because i had to run it a little farther.
When my 15s are hitting like they do i dont think i will care what a mechanic says lol.

we had to deal with my friends sonata 04 that had this.

 

Low voltage can cause o2sensor errors. It has happened to me. I thought of that because you mentioned pumping your stereo.

 

in my 02 accent, I had a leaky flex pipe in the exhaust, replaced it and the code went away. Does it sound like you have an exhaust leak?

when i seafoamed it, there was smoke coming from under the engine, and yes it was coming out of the flexpipe. that could be it.

 

^^^ Yep, flex pipe is bad. You can buy just the flex section and have your old one cut out and the new one welded in. Just don't let the guy that welded that exhaust hanger do it. Haven't seen that much splatter since my welding class.

lol that exhaust shop was sketchy ill admit. so how much does a flexpipe run me? i knew it was leaking i didnt think it was a big deal yet lol.

 

a new flex pipe cut and welded shouldnt cost you more than ~100 bux installed

i wonder if you can install a beta 2 alternator on your car, that should help with the 15s in the trunk

IIRC its rated at like 95 amps

 

Beta is rated 90a

 

not all were rated at 90 amps

some were 80

my old one was 80 amps
