lol i probably still have 500 rms going to each sub in my car.
people tell me its hard to breathe.
do they hit hard? i will never know i guess.
since im only throwin down "600" watts apparently.

Your 2k watt amp should be rated as a 400w amp. Any amp rated on anything other than 4ohm RMS unbridged they're being sketchy. Even peak it's only rated at 1200 watts. You can like that fact or not, but it is not a 2000 watt amp. I'm sure it hits fine, but it hits less than if it was driven by a correctly rated 500w amp. You would be surprised, 400w isn't a small amount of power.
And btw, you have 200w RMS going to each sub if they're wired as a 4 ohm load each and running on their own channel. If wired as a combined 4 ohm load and running bridged they're each seeing 250w RMS. If you're running each on it's own channel as a 2 ohm load they're seeing 300w RMS each. This is not an insult or magic, it's all specs provided by you. It will not exceed these outputs, but could possibly output less.

Are they laughing that hard? I kid...
But seriously, sit in a car with a real 2000W and you'll definitely know you're not hitting as hard as you think.

I'm sure it hits great! I set up a buddies ride with one Type R 12 and an Alpine 650 and most folks thinks he has 2 12's.
There are many variables that go into how well a system hits. Its not just numbers, but the design of the box, qualtiy of the box, quality of the subs and amps, and the vehicle it sits in. ALL systems will sound better in a Ford Excursion!! LOL!! The simple size of the vehicle allows the waves to fully form.
BUT.......although I believe your system hits great, PLEASE do not tell people you are pushing 2000 watts. Since you have it bridged, its running 500 watts. Those are the specs, end of story. Which is Great! Thats a lot of power and it obviously sounds good. Tell folks the truth. They will be MORE impressed your system sounds as good as it does and you will not get folks knocking you for being "novice" in your knowledge of car audio.
My only ammendment to that statement is if you are using some old school RF amps. Those amps are legendary!! Punch 50 running stable, HOT AS HELL< but stable down to .5 ohm!!!!! Now, that same amp specs out at 50 watts per channel at 4 ohms jumps to something crazy like 500-600 watts!!! Crazy sh*t! Made DB drag competitions very exciting in the 90's!!!
Also, head down and get it tested. Most car audio shops have the equipment. Some will even do it for free for ya if they think you will eventually buy something or send someone there way. Then you'll have proof how well your car sounds with only 500 watts!!!!
