Low end torque
Cam gear. On our cars the external gear acts as if we are a sohc . Which basically will move your powerband into a lower rpm . With a good short ram intake it could get a little better. Honestly ......supercharger is the way to true low end torque from the get go.
Supercharger? can that actually be done on a 2010 accent? a turbo i think would be more practical but that's like 3 grand.
Well I did my own short ram intake which I claim is better than any of the after market ones due to the intake pipe being much linear than that Z shaped crap which is no good for air flow. And a dryflow filter is better than those oil based filters.
I just recently did my 2.25 crush cat-back exhaust with a zero restriction magnaflow 12865 muffler, center cat removed (still one near the downpipe).
I've noticed wee better low end torque however the highway performance has greatly improved. Headers next.
In all due honesty, I think the main problem is the ECU. the VP12 chip's main mapping is to always configure our cars to save fuel, hence it's nature being a ecobox. I believe the ECU needs a remap to fully take advantage of the upgrades..then you'll truly notice a difference, low end torque, HP and all.
I'm currently looking into either a good IAT chip, or a soft flash...or, a full ECU remap on a 2nd ECU so if I ever need to go back to the dealer I can put the stock ECU back in.
Suggestions?

aem fic/ARK 02 sensor imitator?
that said, the sacrifices you make in economy and emissions wouldn't be worth that small amount of low end power you might get from a re-tune.

A short ram intake with a cat-back exhaust really does add noticeable power though. I put the stock air box back on yesterday because I had to take the car in for rust proofing inspection. Man the car is a snail with that stock air box. I hated it. I wanted to throw my car in the trash. I then asked the dealer if a SRI would void warranty and they said no. So i took the thing off for nothing. Once I put my custom SRI back on, the car flew again.
But then again, This is MY SRI i'm talking about. Nothing like the after market ones, no Z shaped piping. I encourage anyone else to make their own as well!
