Default Hyundai Accent bashing :(

Hello everyone. I have a question for everyone with an accent. As an owner of a 2006 Hyundai accent GSI LC2 I have the following simple mods.

K&N SRI
Eiback lowering springs
TWM short shifter
Rear sway bar and frunt strut bar
HID kit

These are simple mods but i have installed them myself and therefore I take pride myself in my car.

I get this a lot of when someone see's my car or hears me talking about my car they always say "why would you modify an accent". "there is no point" and so one. I've heard them all. Although I try to ignore it since I have put a lot of time and money into it I can't help but feel the burn a bit

Anyone have the same experience and what do you say in return?

Thanks!

I had a 2005 Accent GT.... I put and intake on it, silverstars and other stuff... basically when people would ask me that I'd tell them cause no one else was.... and I'd rather not be a little poser with a damn honda civic...

You know whats really funny? I bet as soon as the Genesis starts hitting the streets in full force....no one will be asking "Why mod a Hyundai?"

Accents are the lowest end of the Hyundais which are a very inexpensive car to start with. Accents are not known for having a platform to work with. The general view is that the Accent is as much of a budget car as you can get.

I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just being real. Personally, i think an accent with a turbo is the ultimate sleeper. I think it would be great to blow by people who aren't expecting it.

Not any more...hell half the people who own Hyundais didnt even know the Pony was ever made. I hear ya though. Ive got a fair amount of work on my car: turbo, body kit, HIDs ect...I still get SH*T for it. Its pretty funny though how some of those guys think. I got one guy who raced me at the track and i took him out by 3 car lengths with his Spec V. At the time he just had CAI, and exhaust. Later he got headers and still kept talking...not sure why but he thought he could beat me now he had headers. Well instead of 3 cars I beat him by 2. I dont know but its fun to waste people when they see you have a Hyundai.
