Default Fuel Gauge all Wonky?

Hey all.. just a quick question..

i've read the accent x3 tank fits 45L of gas.

When is the fuel light supposed to come on?

My fuel light trips when the needle hits halftank on the gauge.. but when i goto fill it up.. i've still got 15-18 litres of gas left.

Is the fuel light supposed to come on at half just to let you know you've hit half?

does the light come on when you're actually supposed to be low?

And if so, how do i fix it? do i need a new gauge, fuel pump, or sending unit?

Is the sending unit integral to the FP on these cars?

i mentioned above, when the light hits low.. i've still got 15-18 litres of gas left in the car. the tank holds 45.

so im pretty sure my car isnt actually low when the light turns on.. so why does it turn on?

your fuel level sender probably is sticking/binding on something

pull the bottom of the back seat out and check out the sender

its very basic just a arm extending from the fuel pump to a plastic float
