Default Help me find where these hoses go???

was under the hood today cleaning stuff, and i noticed that my pcv valve hose isnt connected to anything.

just to double check.. it goes to the intake manifold right?

the PCV is the one with the metal fitting on the x3 valvecover... the fitting on the right of the 2 fittings there.

what is the left fitting for???? it's also not connected to anything.

the car is boosted, is it safe to connect the pcv to the intake manifold. i've heard some people have to upgrade to a turbo car spec pcv?

Any light shed would be awesome.

thanks!

Naw your good. both are just a way to allow blow by gases and some oil to vent from the valve cover were the cams are. Just conect them to an oil catch can and you'll be fine. I did the same for mine and the car runs just the same...no biggie.

so im safe to connect both into a catchcan, and have the catchcan routed via the intake manifold for vaccuum?

am i able to get rid of the pvc valve alltogether?

just looks kinda sketch havin rubber hoses dangling LOL

and im just cautious, since i've read before sometimes having the pcv valve on a non turbo car isnt a great thing to have on a boosted motor.

The PCV valve has a hose that comes out and makes a 90 degree turn and plugs into a downward facing elbow on the front of the intake manifold. Plug the intake manifold side of that hose and let the PCV valve breathe into an oil catch can. If you don't plug the IM side of the hose it'll give you a boost leak.

yes your good to go. I took my PCV valve out and replace it with a bigger nozzle to breath better...gets a lot of blow by build up and preasurizes the valve cover so "LET IT BREATH!" lol
