Default brakes question

Seems like the car is going downhill....maybe to the junk yard if things continue. Just yesterday I was driving and went to slow down and it felt like I didn't have much of a brake. I stopped and pushed on the brake again and noticed that the brake pedal is almost on the floor. Well to the point it can't go any further. About an inch, inch and a half from touching carpet. If I. Jam of the brake it still goes down as far but seems stiff. It I push slowly it feels spongy like. What would this mean? And yes there is brake fluid

Sounds like you may have a bubble in your lines (bleed them).

Have your brakes inspected by a professional.

Could be many things. Brakes keep you from killing yourself or someone else, so I'm with him^^^ take it to a shop and get it inspected. That should be free.

Did you ever figure this out or is it the same problem on a new thread?

check brake fluid to see if its gone down, could be a small leak. also look under the car.

most likely is some air in the lines/brakes somewhere. i would bleed the whole system. if you can do that, then no need to see a mechanic. but at the same time if you're not comfortable no shame in admitting it.keep a hand on the e-brake while you test
