Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

I would imagine if the sensor is in the tumbler/ignition switch then you need the tib switch with key inserted and have it wired in so the immobilizer sees it and that signal runs to the ecm. This should allow you to use your normal ignition switch/ key with the tib one hidden somewere under the dash.

in uk we suffer them the sensor around the key failing alot causing the car to not start. As aslong as i stick the tib key fob by it permitly and fit a aftermarket alarm i should be ok.

That is what I did, AUDM accents came with SMARTRA too. I've got the elantra key + transponder unit stuffed up inside my dash.

Beta 1 harness is to different to attempt what I did to a Beta 2 harness on my swap, not that it couldnt get done, just way more work then we need to do. Sensor plugs that need changed are still to be determined, lets get the ECM side done first.

Yep, I'll get you a photo on thursday, pinkie promise. The accent is back at my other house.

It is just a small transponder that clicks around the key barrel, here is a ghetto google image:

It is in the same place for both the elantra and the accent.

Thats not what I was expecting, I will make sure the wiring is correct, you figure how to mount it.
