The beta harness will not plug into your accent system without alot of hacking, been there done that. Its hard for me to say what you need to do as I have only dealt with the wiring on U.S. spec Hyundai's. So with that said here is what I did when i first beta swapped my 02 Accent back some time ago in 2004-05. The donar car was an 02 Elantra 2.0 beta 2 with manual transmission, ECM and engine harness, along with various other parts. now to the first harness.

1) Beta Harness - There are 2 connections coming off the engine harness that are behind the dash that tie into the body harness. Also I believe 2 plugs for the engine bay fuse box. On the alpha engine harness you will have the same situation for the most part, body harness connections and engine bay fuse box connections. What I did was cut off the connections (with enough wire left to solder) from the alpha harness and swapped them onto the Beta harness so that the Beta harness would plug and play. I made it sound Easy... IT WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS. You will end up having to reroute lots of wires and various other things.

2) A couple years ago this june I starved my engine of oil, so in went a new block. While the engine was out I picked up another 1.5L alpha harness for my car, removed the hacked beta harness and in went the alpha harness. I was able to repin the Alpha ECM plug to match the pinout of the Beta ECM. I also had to make a few changes under the hood in the way of the engine harness connections being rerouted and some of the plugs being repinned like I did at the ecm, just on a much smaller scale as the ecm had some 60 wires or so and every single one had to be moved.

There are many advantages to using your alpha harness over the beta harness

1) you only have to mess with the ecm plug and some of the sensor connections.

2) your not wasting money on another harness

3) You dont have to remove your existing harness... Pain in the ass.

4) Less work then then using the beta harness

I kinda got put off by the lack of active users for hyundai fourms. But i went for it knowing somone would help me and maybe peek more intrest in there lovely cars

On my car. There are just 3 blocks behide dash.. white, yellow blocks & ecu pictured.

Am i now right in thinking i can just cut and rewire the sensors on alphas loom to the beta loom ? what do i do about ecu ?

Repin the Accent ECM plug to match the beta ecm plug pinout and a few sensor plugs need repinned as well. Including repinning the maf sensor plug and making it map.

If the ecm you use has the immobilizer then grab them

The pictures above are of the beta Engine loom

Both Cars are immobilizered.

how am i suppose to know which pins i need to swap out?

The MAF & MAP sensors.. do i wire them over as they are.. pin 1 to pin 1 or what -confused.

i need pin layout of alpha ECM and Pin Layout of Beta ecm ?

Repin the Alpha ECM plug to match them of Beta and swap the ECU over ?
