For me this is the only trick to get the damn thing in reverse...

To the best of my gearbox knowledge this trick will not damage anything in the gearbox.

But I never claimed to know anything about the internals of a gearbox.

This trick is perfectly safe. Your Gearbox gears are all "sharp" and new, after time, once the tranny breaks in, you can not have to worry about this.....

i haven't had a chance to try out that trick, but i'll try it tomorrow on the way to school. yesterday i drove my friends tib which is a 2000 and his trans. was fine. it went into every gear effortlessly. the car has a date on the 15th to be checked out, so i'll let everyone know what the resoning is behind the it.
