That's actually idling pretty high. Hmm...

I use an aftermarket tach so it may be wrong, but where should it be most cars I've seen range from 500-1000.

QUOTE(faithofadragon @ Sep 1 2009, 05:36 PM)
is this with the a/c on...

when the compressor kicks off at idle it will cause it to rock some

It's rare that I use the AC, it's done it with it on and off, but the compressor doesn't make a differance.

Also, if I buy an OEM gague cluster w/ a tach will it work (plug n play) in my car?

Yeah, a OEM tach cluster will work in your car, and FYI the mileage is stored in the instrument cluster, so if you change you will show the new cluster's mileage.

If you have the HVAC selector on defrost it will run your AC compressor even when the AC isn't on in any way. I use to do that and wonder why my cars AC compressors always cycled even when the AC was off.

Normal idle from what I've seen on an Accent is between 600 and 800rpms. You can plug in a code reader with realtime data display to see what yours is.

Rock on! I found a white face cluster, but I wouldn't want it if the tach wouldn't work. Now I just hope it's indeglow (however you spell it).

I took a closer look it says it's right at 800, but I've got a friend that has a code reader so I'll have him, or advance auto check it.

I have the same issue. a tad bit of gas makes it go away. Does your steering wheel also shake when this happens? DTN had this issue and there is an extensive thread on what he did over on RDT.

I have a full set of engine mounts that i have yet to replace on the car to see if that stops the shaking. Maybe after reading that it might help ya out a bit.
