Default Shaking-ish?

When I'm at idle out of gear every now and again the engine............rocks?........... It feels like every couple of seconds someone lightly leans against the drivers side of the car then gets right back up. Any ideas what might be causing this?

BTW: It seens to happen more when the engine is hot, but that could be my imagination.

Have you ever had it do it with the hood up so that you could see what the engine does?

With the transverse mounting if the engine rocks the movement should be more or less front to back, not generally side to side. Maybe you have a loose/broken/worn out transmission mount?

Not yet, so far everytime I've noticed it I've been on the road working, and it doesn't do it all the time.

Is the car automatic or 5spd? Does it rock more when it is in gear? Next time you notice it, but it in neutral and see if it gets better or worse.

5 speed and it only does it in idle neutral the smallest amount of gas and it stops shaking. I looked the other day and it just feels like it's side to side in the car, the engine shakes front to back a little, but the engine mounts I could see (I saw 4, I dont think there are any more) looked fine.

How low is your idle? Maybe you're idling too low...

Yeah, this is one of those issues that could be any number of things. Start with the simple stuff and go from there.

It's a spot below 1000, I'd say 825-900 but that's where it's always been.
