Default Intercooler Sensor

I am installing the intercooler from a `93 Mitsubishi Shogun / Pajero in my Scoupe Turbo...
(front of rad. mounted).
This intercooler was originally fan-equipped & there is an internal sensor fitted to it, which I can only suppose, is there to switch on the fan when the charge-temperature reaches a certain level.
The sensor has a 2-wire output & my question is, can this be used to drive any useful dashboard gauge, such as charge-temperature, or would it just be a sort of bi-metal strip on/off switch.
Nobody At Mitsu. U.K. is able to help & one of their garages said they thought it read boost!.
Any help gratefully received!.

if nobody here has an answer for you, my advice would be to find a mitsu board and ask there. i've done this before, and people are ususally friendly to owners of other cars that ask questions like that.

If the external is solid metal, it is a temp sensor. If the external has plastic on it, with a small hole, it is probably a pressure sensor (boost).

If you can remove the sensor, you can test it.
Put it in hot water and measure the resistance across the 2 wires. If the resistance Increases or decreases as water temp goes up...then you know you have a temp sensor.

If it is mounted IN the intercooler, I would put money on a temp sensor, not a Pressure sensor.
