Keep in mind i will be posting as much pictures as i can once we get started on this project. I know from experience forum people want to see every picture as we are in the beging and finishing stages.

Actually, here are some Q's I've been saving up from members:

1. Will the hatches have a latch to work with the OEM latch mechanism?

2. What kind of Carbon Fiber will you be using, Wet or Dry?

3. Is it possible to have the molds completely shaved? IE: no spoiler holes, no window wiper holes, and no recess that holds the "H" Hyundai logo.

Tib001 - Thats why we are splitting the cost up with a 50% deposit. Get your deposit in. Once production starts, we are probably going to be looking at 2-3 weeks before the rest is due. The RD2's NEED folks to sign up, so if its a part you've always wanted, think twice. You DEFINITELY have more than enough time to get your deposit ready, as we only have 1 confirmed for the RD2's. Then save for 3-4 weeks and be able to finish the group buy with everyone else once the hatches are done. No pressure, just want to make sure you know that we actually have some time for you to get your deposit in if thats whats stopping you.

 

Hi Aldo.does shaved also include keyhole?

 

My keyhole is not in my hatch. It is located below the hatch. I have an RD1 but I would be amazed if the RD2 is different in that aspect.

 

^^ Good point, I was a little confused as well. Regit, do the RD2's have a keyhole in the hatch themselves?!?

 

keyhole for RD2 is in the rear bumper. regit is getting old, probably forgot to take his meds when he posted that.

The only thing stopping me is the lack of employment lol. Even if I could swing the 50% deposit right now I can't guarantee the rest would be there. I would never get into this without being 100% and I can't right now.

I really hope to see you guys get these made though. I am surprised at the lack of interest in the RD2's huh.gif

BUMP!!

Update: we lost an RD1. So we are down to only 4 again. We need another to get these going.

Also, I knew this would happen if we dragged our feet. Aldo HAD a connection for both hatches, and now they have been sold. Folks, gotta get going on this, we cant drag our feet.

So.....We need donor hatches now. An RD1 and an RD2 (if the RD2's ever get with the program). Is there anyone in Cali around Orange County that could send them or take their hatch up to them. Aldo said they will give special pricing to the person who either sends in their hatch for the mold or drives up there for them to make the mold. I believe he said if a member can drive up to their shop, turn around time for the mold would be a day, two tops.

Otherwise, we will need to all split getting a hatch from maybe ebay and shipping it directly to bodykits etc. BUT, we will cross that bridge once we get 5 confirmed committed members for the group buy on either hatch.
