Ok, so here is a letter I just wrote Chris. Chris really stepped up and pretty much reconfirmed all the prices we had set the group buy up for since its been so long since I have been in contact with Bay Speed from New York. We know that ITZ, Chris's affiliate, makes great parts. So that was fantastic news. Unfortunately, we still had a monetary demand that could not be met. I'm sorry folks, but I am not going to sit on these forever. I wanted these just as bad as the other 3 folks here did. I feel I have done my part to share this investment with the community. But, enough is enough. I purchased these and they are sitting collecting dust in my garage, and after 4 months, that is now unacceptable to me. The group buy will close tomorrow at noon and I will contact Admin to remove the ad from the front page of the site and lock the thread.

Letter:

Hey Chris,

Seems that even threatening the community is not stirring interest in these. To be honest, I really thought these would take off, especially since you joined the fight. But, the sad thing is, they are not. That is an AMAZING deal you and ITZ worked up for us, but unfortunately, we need at least two more people to make this economically viable for all parties. Sounds ridiculous huh? It is, because we had the original three signed up 3 days into the group buy, and have been waiting 4 months for even a single other person to commit. Nothing. I dont want to see you or me or anyone else loose money, time, or respect just trying to get these reproduced for a marginal .08% of the community wanting these parts. This was by far the best time to get folks interested and signed up with everyone (stateside) getting their 300-600-or-1200 stimulus packs from the gov. Still, no one else has supported this group buy.

So, our group buy cannot meet the monetary requirements to get the molds created and replicas shipped to the three individuals that are interested. And I refuse to simply store these for another2,4,6,12 months, waiting for members to finally commit to the buy. So, I am calling the group buy closed as of noon tomorrow.

Thanks for your support once again, its very much appreciated.

Tom

And thats it. Post comments, positive or negative. Vent if you must. Thats pretty much what I am doing right now. I am just as frustrated that this didn't fly as the rest of you are.

Back to the top. 4 hours until deadline. There is still time to save this group buy, so get in here and get signed up NOW!! fing02.gif fing02.gif

FINAL UPDATE:

The King Side Skirt group buy is officially closed. Thanks to all who provided support.

Well, this sucks big time.... sad.gif

I really wanted a set of those sides for as long as I can remember. I'm still confused why no more than 3 peoples want these?

I'd like to take a second to say thanks again Tom for your hard work to try to get these reproduced, you really didn't have to do as much, I just wanted to say thanks. I understand very well that you are anxious to get them installed and painted, I would do the same thing if they where in my garage. wink1.gif

Congrats on getting you hands on a copy and enjoy them! Don't forget to post pictures once they're installed!

Its really too bad. I feel a little ashamed for closing the thread, but, I also feel that I am partially justified in doing so. I had absolutely no doubts that this group buy would soar! But, times are changing. Money is tight, and it sure seems like folks are slowing down on souping up the 1st gens. Maybe their eye is on the economy, or that new Genesis coupe that'll be out next year!!! Whatever it is, its a shame that this is ending. I truely felt that a deadline would get people at least talking about the idea of joining the group buy, in which case, I would have left it open.

I tried guys. You all tried. We ALL tried. Just wasn't in the cards this time.

Pascal- thanks man. I really didnt mind because I know you guys would have tried just as hard for me. Thats why this forum is so friggin cool! Sometimes we dont get along, but I know the members here have each others back regardless.

So yes, I am definitely getting these installed! Gotta get it done before the main car shows hit town though. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions to as to a nice rear bumper or skirt that would compliment the F2 bumper and King side skirts? That is, if you dont mind helping out the guy that dealt the fatal blow to the group buy... hail.gif hail.gif hail.gif hail.gif
