Yea i beat the Civiv EX bye about half a car length. not to far ahead but enough. i e-mailed that alpine company. they do make a turbo kit for my car that they claim when added to the stock 2.0 engine in my elantra that it puts out 238 hp and 282 ftlb or torque. very awesome. they said the kit cost 1900 then 275 for shipping. i am very interested, im probably going to save up for it and plan on getting it installed next summer. just cuz it will take me a while to get it done. i needa save up. but yea i think i might go ahead and keep my elantra. thanks for all those many links to the KORE stuff i have e-mailed them. thanks everybody!

all funds listed are USA dollars
Alpine developments turbo is about $1900 plus about $250 for shipping.
Install should run you between $300 to $500.
However you will also need exhaust work totaling another $300 to $400.
In other words, you can get into a Turbo for about $3000. Installed.

Because any turbo kit replaces the stock exhaust manifold with a new turbo manafold, exhaust work is required.
Turbo's require as little backpressure as possible. If the exhaust outlet on the Manifold is 2.75", your piping should be 2.75 all the way back, and you should replace your stock muffler with a "low restriction" muffler.

I'm sorry but I think this must be said. You have the same motor in that Elantra as what i do in my 2000 Tiburon. Your Elantra is also lighter than my Tiburon. Now my first question is how come I could beat every car you named and all I have is a custom catbck exhaust. My second question is why would you ever consider buying a Honda anything. You think your Hyundai is slow, wait until you get in that Honda. Yuo'll wish you stuck with the Hyundai instead of going with the "RICE".

Actually I would have to agree with the 2 guys above. The only vehicle that should have had a chance would be the 92 Maxima SE, that is considering if it was the 5-speed SE version with some mods. If you got beat by the others maybe you should look into your launches and general driving ability. Your only excuse here would be the autotragic.
Also another tidbit of info for you. The Type SH is slower that the S due to weight mostly. Same motor in both cars.
