Weak headlights
QUOTE (Kit-Fox)
dudes? on original on my tib i agree i had a problem with it, then i realigned them realy well, and it helped out alot, then what i did next is i got HID's, and that helped out ALOT ALOT LOT LOT, its realy worth it, i got like 15$ for the low beams, and $15 for the high beams, on ebay, its worth it, at least for the low beams, it totaly chagnes the look of the car at night, make sure you try realigning the lights.
You DO NOT have "HID'S", you have $15 Hyper white bulbs,... AKA Rice Lights

I have the same problem. I have a 2001 tib and the low beams, well, suck. I have not adjusted them yet (You are Legally only allowed to adjust them so much and I forget the exact setup). But, from what I remember, you park a certian distance from say a garage door with your car on a flat surface, and the focus of the beams need to be under a certian height, or atleist thats what I have been told.
I am also thinking about buying aftermarket light bulbs, however, I have never had a bulb go out on me yet (7 months) so I dont want to mess with a good thing tongue.gif:
To check your voltage, start the car and put your lights on. Test the battery with a volt meter. It should be around 13-14 volts. The spark plugs and wires will not affect the voltage to my knowledge. Its all about the battery and altenator (and mabe a faulty ground).

^^ he got that one for telling me to "tick off", whatever that means...I was also gonna give him one for off topic posting and leet speak, but I didnt wanna go overboard.
I still to this day swear by my HID kit. It was such a good investment and is so worth it. That thing will most likely out live my car.

Just out of curiosity, how much is a HID kit run for all 4 lights? A rough estimate would be fine. I have heard anywhere from $450 to $1000 and I still dont remember if thats for all four or just two.
KayJai: That was Exactally what I was talking about smile.gif. Good find. You wouldnt happen to have one for a second gen, would you? I guess they should be close to the same. I might check that out this weekend (if we dont get the 18" of snow :.

yeah, if you were to actually take the 2nd gens apart, it's the SAME projector unit.
Just the caseing / housing is different.
But yeah unfortunatly the same dull result from both gens for lights.

That's interesting. My RD2's lights are significantly brighter than my brother's RD1. We thought it was a difference in design, but I guess it's the bulbs or something else.

How does this affect going from high to low?
I think the low beams stay on when you use the highs.
