well, my problems aren't over with the lights not working. i found the blown fuse (Driver Tail). but it continues to blow. i disconnected the harness to one headlight, put a new fuse in, turn on the lights and pop. i reconnect it, then the other headlight, 10 seconds, pop. same for the blinkers, pop, pop. then the taillights, pop pop. i didn't have a multi-meter, so this was the expensive way to test things.

in addition, only sometimes will my alarm chirp when engaged, and the parking lights don't flash when armed (not even the working blinker).

i followed most of the wires behind the bumper as far as i could back to the fuse box, and they looked fine. the only idea i have left, is that i may have pinched a wire when putting my bumper back on. i really don't think that i could have, but it's my last ditch effort. so it's off the my friend's garage to use his lift tomorrow again. this time with a couple friends and a multimeter.

I would check EVERY wire that was touched during the headlight modification. Sorry to hear about this. Similar thing happened to me...

When I got my body kit, I took the fog lights off (they won't fit on Veilside) so I taped the connectors to the Radiator support. The tape came undone and was dragging on the ground, and I had the Fog Light button pushed in (stupid me). Well... with the exposed wire (exposed because it was dragging the ground and it exposed it) it would short out the passengers side tail light fuse (maybe drivers, cant remember), which cut off my one headlight, tail light, and interior lights. Made it impossible to see gauges at night. I went through 5 fuses before figuring it out, since it would only short out while I was in motion (the wire dragging the ground) and my dad actually saw it spark under the car.

Good luck :-(

it is pretty convenient... this was the first time i'd been to his new house/apartment to use it. i guess his soon-to-be stepdad rents the apt to him, and collects cars, and has a 4 bay garage with apts over it. he's got an early 80's RX-7 (near mint), a porshe (near mint), an old muscle car (i forget the name), a new saab and new cherokee, as well as a couple bikes. his dad's a really cool guy too.

I rent a garage.. unfortunatly I have an italian car in it... and it is without suspension so I cannot even roll it out to work on the tib.

So, keep us informed on the short issue? I also want to see if the amber rings make an impact on the light quality from the headlights themselves.

well, failure on the fix. i spent another 4 hours in the garage along with two friends tonite. i took the bumper off again, checked all the wires for pinches, and multi-metered the sockets and fuse box. everything came up inconclusive, as well as burning through another box of fuses. so as it stands, i re-installed the old headlights (for fear it was the korean light sockets). i removed most of the halo/city light wiring to make it look as close to me NOT messing with the wiring as possible. i'm gonna have to bring it into the dealer, and hope they cover it under warranty. if not, i'll just have to eat it. they've been really cool with service knowing that i'm tinkering.

i'm having other concerns with white-ish goo in my oil and an empty coolant tank. i'm hoping it's not a head gasket problem. so i'll kill two birds with one warranty visit (i hope). i'll keep you updated with the result.

white goo in the oil sounds like water in your oil... how does the dipstick look?
