Id say leave the cf hood the way it is..the red and then the cf will look good together.

All the way to Florida to get it painted? damn lol where in fl?

Good choice with the color btw!

I found a cool photo of my car with the original, my dad took so I scanned it.

come spring the new paint goes on. I've decided to save some money and have my mechanic at it. But this time I'm going to just go with a red color from the 2006 Tiburon and just have flake mixed into it. I don't want to complicate things for him and then ending up with a color I'm not really familiar to.

I'm not a fan of the "carbon fiber look", but appreciate the weight of it. Personally I think that CF hoods look like you just had a wreck and haven't painted it yet. That's the same thing "non car enthusiasts" will think.

i would just add color to the clear and get it to be a red CF so u can still see the weave.

JonGTR, yeah i think the same thing man. i mean, on some cars it looks ok like on some WRX's, preludes, RX-7s or supras, but otherwise not. i've decided to eventually paint. i think primer looks like an old rusted train all it needs is graffiti. and different color body panels take away from the line. with the black vents, it will look factory.

optimo, i might just do that however if you see any weave it will be the most minimal. i bought a car cover. i wish i could do it right now, but painting in the winter is the worst because the paint doesn't dry quick enough.

^i wouldn't even try laugh.gif i mean, the most i do is car models (flight of the phoenix) and i'm a pro at that. but when i get the whole car painted, it'll be the 2006 Tiburon color so it won't be the interior panels. next i have a good mechanic who does really good body work. he'll also patch up a couple of minor dings on the roof and patch over the stonechips on the fiberglass bumper and side mirrors.

i want the whole ball game. actually CF doesn't look that bad with your blue, and definitely looks better when you've got the bumper space between the lights there. plus you're going to paint your car black, no? that'll look great! for me mine just doesn't look right when there's this black empty space. when it's got so much flow to it already. it does look amazing at night though that's one thing i'm going to regret 02.gif 'll go with carbon fiber interior parts. i never see any ferraris with CF hoods... and definitely wanting that exotic look.

and it's been suggested that i sell this one and get a fiberglass one. i'd do that but why go through all the hassle when you've got the part already. all the way from cali and chris prolly doesn't have them stocked than when he did when OP bought the hood from him. plus it's stronger than fiberglass, plus it's a car so something might happen to it on any car. i think it'll be better though. less of a "cool ebay replacement hood" thing and more of a "nice tiburon" thing.

thanks swift!!! yeah i found those to be quite helpful! not too far off. most of the red Tiburons you see out there are either rally red or electric red. i haven't seen Hip Hop red, but it looks damn close to the Viper Red. I think close enough for me.

I can't wait, my mechanic can resurface all the dents out of the body and it'll look brand new. I know I'm talking about my car way too much, but I love it so much and am very excited to get this opportunity.

Wish there was a garage to keep her in. In Warsaw you can park 30 cars in the yard and also have two garages, one with an impenetrable door and and the main brama is remote controlled! By far nothing impressive, but it's one of those things that would be great to have here yet the county will not permit it.
