Paint My Cf Hood?
first time i've ever heard of lower temperatures being bad for hp .. cool.gif
anyway, hkc, the hood is not going to take the paint like FG would, and if you kandy it then you're going to see the CF weaves, and it's not going to really match the rest of your nice red paint. You can't have CF be the exact same color, it will just look funny. Even FG won't match exactly 100% between the rest of the unibody, but it's so close you can't tell. CF on the other hand, is not going to match..I seriously think painting this hood would just be bad. Give it to someone who wants CF, and buy yourself FG.

Just my 2 cents as a car painter. No you don't need a candy to cover the hood rolleyes.gif , Yes you can put base into clear, BUT it has to be mixed the proper way (ie activated, hardened, or both : depends on paint product). And no the color will not match perfectly, but if the painter knows what they're doing and you're willing to shell out an extra $120-$150 to blend into the fenders it will be so very insignificant only very descerning onlookers or other painters would be able to tell.
Oh just fyi a candy is a normal base coat that suspended in a clear binder (not nesacerally "clear") will produce a translucent effect. nana.gif

Damnit you guys vote Carbon Fiber over painting it. I'll have to keep it that way until I get some serious photochopping done and some final pictures.
I'd like you to know that I'm keeping it carbon fiber until further notice. And if I do end up painting it I'm going to respray the entire car to the Honda S2000 R510 Red instead of this tomato color. lol zoned...

This brings me to meh next question. Which one is better? Shark Spoiler or F2 Spoiler? Because I know Hobbygobby can get me one. I've always wanted one before the Shark Spoiler. Either way I'm getting a brand new paint job soon and I need to know before deciding whether or not to keep the spoiler.
Shark?

F2?

Do you guys know any nice flaked cherry reds?

We get "Flake" & "Cherry Ripe" chocolate bars over here... I've never tried a "Flaked Cherry Red" before though wink1.gif
I would go for the F2 spoiler. I reckon its agressive enough but is still quite subtle. The Shark spoiler might suggest to some that you want to race everyone at the lights... & we all know our poor cars get owned most of the time, by most of the cars on the road sad.gif wink1.gif

Oz so long as they are ripe, hot, and tasty! lmao.gif I smell a new business coming from you.
Haha yep all these people look at my black hood and my wing and want to take me on.
My friends hit themselves on my spoiler. i've quoted two of them saying, "f*cking spoiler". I love the thing but I also equally love the F2 Spoiler. Hobbgob needs to come back here and get some better photos. There are some good ones from UKCS but not that up close.
I hate myself for loving many girls at once!!!

OK, so I've confirmed I will be painting the entire car with a new color, maybe the carbon fiber maybe. I'm going to be driving to Florida to do it. Florida guys do some awesome jobs with paint.
I've spoken to a friend, gave me a unique color called "Blue Blood Red", described it as simply the finest red color there is and if I used some black primer, with a silver flake over the primer, then a few coats of BBR it would give me the color I'm looking for with that sparkle i'm looking for.

Have you guys ever heard of that color? What do you think?
