Hello everyone, a year ago I bought a Carbon Fiber EVO hood second hand bought from flyryde. I know it sounds stupid and crazy and that carbon fiber supply is low. But I didn't get this hood for those reasons. I got it because it's our perfect hood. Got GT Headers that work wonderfully, sticking about 1 inch away from the vent. During parking (like a drive thru, or stoplight) you can see the heat just comin' right outta there like fire. looks really cool!

(no new pics, i'm sorry)
"Hey you drive that car with that black hood right?" "i saw you the other day, with that wierd hood?" "what happened to your hood?" it's ALL about the hood and not the tiburon! I have never been a big fan of red cars with black hoods. For me, Ferraris and Vipers have always been an inspiration. I have loved the way they're one piece, and now with the tuning boom it's not about the car anymore it's how many flames it has on the side, how many vents, how big a spoiler... I love CF but the cowling will take care of that... Never been happy with the tomato color I have now, always loved that exotic cherry red color.
Bottom line is, I'm not as happy as I used to be with the all round sexy ass red. I'm thinking of picking a nice deep red color maybe with flake or something and get the entire outisde car painted instead of the tomato color, including the CF EVO hood along with a new clear coat that I need. If that happens, the vents on the hood will be black vs. red like a lancer or a viper just how I like. What do you think?

HKC i think you shoulda waited around for the cadamuro hood, it's gonna be sexier wink1.gif
And you know what I say, save your paint money, and instead use it for a TRANNY SWAP! so it can be as FAST as the vipers you like (well, not really but..closer, LOL)

HKC, if you want a red hood, sell your CF one to someone else who will appreciate it more & buy yourself a FG Evo hood from Chris. That way you would be helping the community two-fold & you also get what you want at the end of the day fing02.gif
It seems a bit of a shame to paint over it... to me anyway.

So your car doesnt look like the one shown above? Paint wise? because on the picture you posted the car looks hot. fing02.gif
I like the CF hood, dont paint over it. If the car is tomato red now then paint it a deep red, almost burgundy.

i like the cf the way it is .....you just lost that "lovin feelin" for it lmao.gif (srry just watched top gun)
well if you really want it painted you could just get a candy coat over it so instead of it being a solid color you will still beable to see the cf. mmm red cf yummmmmy
just a thought

Here's something you can do. If you like having the CF look, but want it to match the color of the car, have your painter add a tiny bit of color to the clear, and spray the hood. You'll get a translucent appearance, and the hood will be the same exact color as the car, but you will still have the CF weaves. wink1.gif

Dude, my favorite and what I plan on doing after I two tone my car, is do the humps in your color.
You know, you have the flat center portion? Leave that CF, and paint the outer sides.
Or vice versa.

visionz... would it work if he had the entire car resprayed with a bright red kandy? would he still be able to see the hood through the kandy?
I think what REDZ is suggesting is similar to what my friend did with his M3
