Hey!

I know that scoop would prolly have been more appropriate but I wouldn't have had the "double-entendre" effect with that wink1.gif

Anyway, some of you know that I have my CAI sucking air from behind my passenger-side fog (sorta like AEM, only piping comes from where battery tray normally is). I thought about doing something like col96fx's scoop but I don't have the skill or knowhow to do that... I can make holes in stuff though fing02.gif

Here's what I did...

It's still a little rough around the edges but I am wanting to get a feel for it first, as I may want to adjust the shape/size before I eventually mesh it up.

It's barely noticeable because of my car being so dark, which is nice because I didn't want to throw the balance of the car off too much.

What do you think?

I got a question, why didn't you remove your foglights or got a new front bumper to have sufficent air?

tanc: Cause the fogs are pretty cool, especially smoked. Also, with the fogs removed it looks like something is missing as those fog-hole inserts that you guys get aren't available here in Australia. All of our Coupes, regardless of spec, come with fogs.

I still may eventually get the Trial bumper but I'm in no real rush to get it as I need to have all of the kit parts together before I would paint & install anything.

Mk3: Just search for threads started by col96fx. I'll have a look for it later.

tibby01: I'm cheap. If I can do something for nothing or close to nothing then that's what I'll do. I don't want to put money into this bumper when I might be changing it soon.

MK3: Here's what Col did.

dude im sorry but u cut a hole in the bumper for nothing.

it servs no purpose. it will not help your cai get more or colder air it serves no purpose but to maybe get your car to hydrolock faster.

lol u cut a hole in your bumper thinking it woud make your car faster owned.gif

Don't be sorry. You just don't know any better. That's not your fault.

The reason I cut the hole was to make up for the fact that my pod is in a low-pressure area. I don't think air-flow would've been too good at speed as there were only a few small spaces for air to get through. There is also a hole behind the filter from a previous CAI I had made before this one, so air should flow through quite nicely now.

There is no way this hole is going to increase the risk of hydrolock... For you to say that is pretty stupid.
