I know this was tried way back, and failed, but , just wondering if anyone else besides me still wants /and is willing to buy a carbon or kevlar hatch?? If there was enough interest in this, but chances are the older our rides get, fewer people wanna spend money on them.., but if there was enough interested I could make it happen..so lets see if theres anyone seriously interested first.

I would love to have a CF hatch with plexiglass or some other lighter than glass material. But as of right now I just don't see myself dumping money into a car that I don't even have a garage for. Give me a year or two.

One of the reasons this never happened is that there's little to no performance benefit. Most of the weight in the hatch is the glass, and the only way to save weight on that is to go with Plexi, which scratches super easily.

I was actually working on finding a company to do a carbon hatch for us, and they pretty much fell off the planet. Never returned my emails or phone calls. I'd definitely be down for doing a run of these. One of the biggest expenses will be shipping them once they are completed.

I wonder if we'd be able to retain our rear wiper capabilities? Buh bye rear defroster!
