I did this install about a year ago, my boy made a DIY out of it, it's decent, should help you out a little. http://www.desertshark.2ya.com/ Scroll down and click on Mike's Tiburon, then click on DIY Guide, then 97-01 Tiburon Pulley Install. This should make it a little easier, hopefully.

I'm wonderin, what's the brand name of the pulleys? Did it all come in one box? How many pulleys for how much? And it CAME with the belts?

Most aftermarket crank pullys weigh around 0.5lbs. so weight will not be a factor..as far as diameter, that's a different story but I honestly don't know if there is any sizable difference between OBX and other brands

Thanks, that write up is missing a few minor things im sure, one of these days i'll fix it up and do it Redz style mayn, haha. The pulleys are GIM racing and I ordered them from, believe it or not, sharkracing, haha. Surprisingly the 2 times i've ordered from there I haven't had any problems, I wont hold my breath though. Three seperate boxes for the pulleys, I have the boxes in my garage...I think, i'm not sure I just moved like 20 minutes down the road. It was $240 altogether, or you can just buy the water and power pulley for $140 if you already have the crank pulley. And yes it came with the belts, you only get the belts if you order the crank pulley though. The power steering belt is the same as stock but the other two change because of the smaller pulleys. Pretty easy install overall, just time consuming.

Ok, so today i finally have the time to do this and all the materials. i took the wheel and tire shroud off and have been trying to take the crank bolt off with no luck. it just wont go, weve been using a real heavy duty ratchet and both me and my father have been giving it all we got with no luck. We have a air wrench but it doesnt seem to even come close at 120psi (thats the most my compressor will give me) ive been spraying it with WD-40 but with no luck. my dad said we could try heating it but i was hoping somebody may have some additional advise... do we just need more torque? my car is on jack stands so quick responses will be greatly appreciated laugh.gif

I know alot of people are against doing what I'm about to suggest, but try using a breaker bar, wedge it so it can't move and blip the motor. It's a tad risky (I used it and it got it off with no problem) but it might just work for you. BTW, I had the same problem you did.
